Practical AI help

Practical AI help: for jobs buried in paperwork

Heard about AI but not sure where it would actually save you time? I use AI tools such as Claude to take the slog out of document-heavy jobs, and I check the results myself. You tell me what you need and share the material, and I hand back finished work, ready to use. You don't need to know anything about AI.

What I help with

The jobs that eat up evenings and weekends, done faster and checked properly.

  • Bids, tenders and grant applications
  • Business plans
  • Council planning applications
  • Making sense of financial or pension figures
  • Summarising long legal or regulatory documents
  • Working through a big pile of documents to find what matters

AI help is charged by the hour. After a short conversation about the task, I estimate the time involved and agree the cost with you before starting, so there are no open-ended bills.

Checked, not taken on trust

AI can sound confident and still be wrong. So I work to one simple rule: every point has to trace back to where it came from, and a person checks it.

  • The AI works alongside your original documents, never in place of them
  • Every summary points back to its source, so you can check it yourself
  • If a point can't be traced back to a real document, it isn't used
  • I'll tell you plainly when AI isn't the right tool, and if something needs proper legal or financial advice, I'll say so

Who it's for

  • Owners facing a bid, tender or grant deadline with no time to write
  • Businesses with a pile of documents that someone needs to make sense of
  • Advisers who want a weekly round-up of the news that matters, sorted into what needs action and what can wait
  • Anyone from sole traders to limited companies. I work with businesses only, and I'm happy to meet if you're nearby, or to work remotely with businesses anywhere in the UK.

How it works

You always know what's happening, what's next and what it costs.

  1. Talk it through. A free, no-obligation conversation about the job and the material you have.
  2. Agree the cost. I estimate the time involved and agree the cost with you before starting.
  3. Do the work. I use AI tools to work through the material quickly, then check every point against the original documents.
  4. Hand it back. You get a finished result you can check, question and build on. The judgement stays with you.

Questions about AI help

What does your AI help cover?

I use Claude, an AI assistant, to speed up slow, document-heavy jobs. Typical jobs include bids, tenders and grant applications, business plans, council planning applications, making sense of financial or pension figures, and summarising legal or regulatory documents.

Do I need to understand AI to use it?

Not at all. You tell me what you need and share what you have, and I hand back the finished work. You don't need any technical knowledge.

How is AI help charged?

It is charged by the hour. After a short conversation about the task, I estimate the time involved and agree the cost with you before starting, so there are no open-ended bills.

Can I trust what the AI produces?

Not on its own, which is why I check it. Every point has to trace back to the document it came from, and if it can't, it isn't used. In a complex dispute, that meant checking the references themselves, not just the summaries.

What happens to the documents I share?

When you share documents with me, I use Claude and Grok with their AI-training settings switched off, so your files aren't used to train their models. Please remove personal details, such as customer or staff names, before you share anything. When the job's done I delete your files and our chats, and both providers then remove them within 30 days.

Is this legal or financial advice?

No. I'm not a solicitor or a financial adviser. What you get is careful, checked work to help you get the job done, and if something needs proper legal or financial advice, I'll say so.
